Sunday Morning Worship
Worship at Trinity UCC is always engaging, relevant,
spiritual, and generally, fun! Our service is a mostly
contemporary, blended worship with a worship band
(piano/guitar/bass/drums) and praise choir. We also have the traditional
elements of a hymn, and a sung doxology. All the elements of worship
blend together, reflecting the theme of that particular day. We
celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion the first Sunday of each month
as well as other times where it is theologically, particularly
appropriate. Should you need it, hearing assistance is available—just
ask the greeter.
Our typical Sunday service moves as follows:
Entering In
Gathering Music
Greetings & Announcements
Call to Worship
(involving both the congregation
and worship leader/liturgist for the day)
Opening Musical Worship
(typically 3 contemporary
songs)
Prayer Time
(sharing of Hallelujahs and
Hurts, sung call to prayer, pastoral prayer) Identity/Mission Moment (highlighting something about our people, ministries, and mission activity)
Listening, Learning, Loving
Hymn of Illumination
Scripture Readings
(we typically follow the Common
Lectionary, but sometimes have special topics or series)
Message/Sermon
Offering/Offertory/Doxology/Prayer of Dedication
Lord’s Prayer
Sending Forth
Closing Musical Worship
(typically 1 upbeat
contemporary song)
Benediction
Exit Music
At Trinity, our worship, is central to our life as a
church and as so reflects who we are: authentic, casual, emotional, and
God-focused. Therefore, it is rarely “predictable”
beyond a basic pattern we generally follow. You never know what might
happen, but we welcome the interchange of humanity and Spirit that never
ceases to amaze us!
We love to highlight the Holy Days and Christian
seasons and therefore worship during Advent (4 weeks leading up to
Christmas & Epiphany) and Lent (6 weeks of introspection prior to Holy
Week and Easter), or other special Sundays (like Pentecost, All Saints
Day, World Communion Sunday, etc) sometimes
look different from our ordinary worship experiences. We love to become
more liturgical during those times and often have a processional at the
beginning of worship or special elements like special prayers/liturgies
and/or candle lighting traditions, etc.
In any case, we never require a particular
dress-code—we are truly a “come as you are” church!!!! We believe,
firmly, that God sees our hearts just as easily through t-shirts and
jeans as through suit coats
and dresses. So bring your heart for God, your voice for worship, and
your hands for clapping and hugging and join us, every Sunday at
10:30am. |
